Bacteria Water

Cockrell Hill boil water notice – NBC 5 Dallas Fort Worth

Cockrell Hill customers are advised to boil water before using it due to a broken line and pressure drop.

The announcement was made by the city on Friday, stating that the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality required all customers to boil water before consumption (including water used to wash faces and hands, or to brush teeth).

The city stated that “to ensure the destruction of harmful bacteria and microbes before using water for drinking or cooking and for ice-making, it is important to boil and cool water prior to its use.”

Bring the water to a vigorous boiled and allow it to boil for at least two minutes.

When the city has repaired the line, restored pressure and made the water safe to drink, it will issue a new alert.
