Berkey® International (part of Berkey® Filters supply chain) has been put under a Stop Sale or Removal Order (SSURO) by the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

New Millennium Concepts, Ltd. (“NMCL”) and the James B. Shepherd Trust, the brand owner of Berkey Water Systems, filed a lawsuit against the EPA (United States Environmental Protection Agency) seeking to stop its unjustified treatment and perceived persecution of Berkey Water Filters based on the EPA’s decision to treat Berkey Water Filters as though they are pesticides, rather than water filters. This could take a month or several years to settle.

In 1998 Berkey® New Millennium Concepts® signed a distribution partnership with a British Berkefeld. The name “Berkey®” was inspired by, originated from the Berkefeld brand. Berkefeld helped establish Berkey®’s foundation and reputation. After a few years of success with British Berkefeld Water filters, Berkey® created their own Black Berkey® BB-9® Purification Elements that you know of today.
