Bacteria Water

Jamesville water main failure leads to low pressure, boil alert and WCTI

According to the Town of Jamesville, water users have been experiencing periods of low water pressure and outages due to a damaged main.

Back siphonage can occur when there is low pressure or no pressure on the distribution system.

The water department has said that the hydrant is no longer connected to the system.

After the water is restored, consumers should boil water for one full minute before drinking it, making ice or using it to wash dishes, prepare food, brush their teeth or make a drink.

Boiling the water vigorously for one (1) minute will kill any bacteria that could cause disease. If possible, consumers are encouraged to conserve water.

The Town of Jamesville will continue to issue further notifications until this advisory is withdrawn.
