San Diego County beach water contact advisories and closures – KPBS

San Diego County health officials have closed several beaches on Monday due to high levels of bacteria.

San Diego County Health officials have released an updated list of water contact closures and advisories for county beaches.

The following areas have been closed to water contact due to bacteria levels exceeding standards.

  • Silver Strand Shoreline, ocean coastline from north Carnation south Avenida Lunar
  • Imperial Beach Shorelines is the ocean coastline between Seacost Drive and Carnation Avenue.
  • Tijuana slough shoreline, ocean coastline along the U.S./Mexico Border, including Border Field State Park, and Tijuana slough National Wildlife Refuge.

In addition, the following locations have also been advised to avoid water contact due to bacteria levels exceeding standards of health:

  • La Jolla Children’s Pool
  • Coronado, Avenida Lunar;
  • Ocean Beach, Dog Beach – San Diego River Outlet to 300′ South.
