Bacteria Water

Surge 105

Good news if you are looking to take a swim this weekend in the Halifax Regional Municipality.

Water quality advisories at Birch Cove Beach, Shubie Park Beach, and Cunard Pond Beach have been lifted.

The advisories were put in place earlier this week due to high bacteria levels in the water.

Officials said follow-up tests showed the water is once again within Health Canada guidelines.

HRM says several factors, including animals, warm weather, low water levels, and rain can cause high bacteria levels.
